Philip hoped he didn’t sound demeaning. The last time he traveled he ended up battling dragons, and although she seemed perfectly capable of handling herself, he didn’t feel any woman should be subjected to the creatures of the wood. “Perhaps not, in anycase, I’d be honored to accompany you to whichever town you might be traveling; it’s nice to have a companion when on the road.” He smiled and offered his arm to her, “By the way, I’m Philip.”
It wasn’t common for Meg to take up a man’s offer, but she had a few days off. Might as well enjoy it with some honest company. “Philip huh, I think I prefer charming.” Megara lightly placed a hand on the extended arm, accepting the offer. “The name’s Megara, but please, call me Meg.” Megara smiled, looking towards the direction Philip was once heading. “So where to charming? A nice garden, a quiet pond, perhaps a pleasant place to eat.” She wasn’t to familiar with where she was, and was hoping that she could relax a bit and let Charming here take the lead. She still wasn’t completely herself, keeping a small wall between herself and Philip, just in case this didn’t end well. She wasn’t ready to trust him just yet.
Philip held the reigns of Samson, with Meg on his open arm. He could smell a sweet lavender about her, but there was an air of foreboding that hung above her, as though she didn’t belong entirely to the earth. He laughed when she mentioned that she preferred calling him Charming. He didn’t mind, he was enjoying the company. “So where to Charming?” She had sass, he had to give her that.
“Where? Hm… Not really sure. I’ve been riding a few days and haven’t quite made it to any town. I was surprised to find you here actually.”
“Oh? And why is that?” She smirked, “Looking for some big bad monster to smite?” She looked around, trying to remember which direction she came from. She couldn’t have gone too far from Thebes, perhaps she could give him the grand tour of the chaotic city she use to call home. It be interesting to see just how well he holds up in a place like that.
